Did you know that renowned actress Gaite Jansen is also a published poet?

Odds are you know her from either your television screen or the silver screen, but did you know that renowned actress Gaite Jansen is also a published poet? Jansen, who, among others, is known from the hit show Peaky Blinders, released her bilingual debut Ode aan de onstilbare (Hollands Diep publishers) last year. This collection is an absorbing exploration of desire. During Poetry International, Gaite Jansen will be our guest and talk about her development as a poet. She will also read from her own work. Moreover, the audience will be given the opportunity to engage with this multitalented writer during the chat!  

Gaite Jansen (1991) is a Dutch actress. From a young age she has performed (main) roles in Dutch films such as 170Hz, Supernova, Hoe duur was de Suiker and television series such as In Therapy and Hollands Hoop. Gaite Jansen (1991) is a Dutch actress. From a young age she has performed (main) roles in Dutch films such as 170Hz, Supernova, Hoe duur was de Suiker and television series such as In Therapy and Hollands Hoop. After studying at the Toneelacademie in Maastricht, she joined Ivo van Hove's Internationaal Theater Amsterdam (Formerly Toneelgroep Amsterdam) for several years. In 2017, she made her international television debut in the third season of the British series Peaky Blinders. Since then, she has crossed national borders as an actress, combining national (Bo, Happy Ending) with international (Jett, Leopard Skin) productions. In 2023, her bilingual poetry collection Ode aan de onstilbare was published by Hollands Diep publishers.
